Executive Summary
Privacy focused on operation, not on commercial data exploitation
Smart Hub TV needs technical information to connect to your sources, maintain your progress, and enable optional integrations. Beyond that, the product's goal is not to monetize your libraries or market your personal preferences.
Minimal operational data
The app processes the information necessary to connect sources, maintain sessions, save settings, and track playback progress.
Controlled persistence
Credentials and sensitive configurations are stored using platform mechanisms; some settings can be synced via iCloud if enabled by the user.
Optional third parties
TMDB, Trakt, Dropbox, Google Drive, Plex, and Apple may process data if you choose to connect those services within the app.
1. Responsible party and purpose of processing
Smart Dev publishes Smart Hub TV as an application to organize, explore, and playback media libraries on Apple TV.
If you have questions about privacy, data processing, or the exercise of your rights, you can contact us at [email protected].
2. Information the app may process
The application may process server addresses, usernames, tokens, or credentials associated with sources configured by the user, as well as local settings, playback history, favorites, progress, and interface preferences.
When optional integrations are enabled, the app may also exchange technical identifiers, authentication tokens, and minimal metadata necessary to operate with TMDB, Trakt, Dropbox, Google Drive, Plex, iCloud, or other compatible services.
3. How we use this information
We use data to authenticate connections, scan libraries, display artwork and descriptions, resume playback, synchronize preferences, and improve service stability.
We do not use library information to sell user profiles or to market your content.
4. Technical foundation and storage
Credentials and sensitive data are stored using secure capabilities provided by the platform when available. Some configuration may be persisted locally or synced with iCloud if the user has an active account and that option is available.
Retention depends on the time the app remains installed, the user keeps their accounts linked, or maintains their sync options active.
5. Third-party services
When connecting external services, those providers may process data according to their own privacy policies and terms of use. We recommend directly reviewing the policies of Apple, TMDB, Trakt, Dropbox, Google Drive, and Plex before linking accounts.
Smart Dev does not control the privacy practices of third parties nor is it responsible for unilateral changes to their terms, interfaces, or availability.
6. Google Drive OAuth and Limited Use
If the user connects Google Drive, Smart Hub TV requests read-only OAuth access only to list folders, display file metadata, and stream the media file selected by the user on Apple TV.
Smart Hub TV does not copy, upload, mirror, cache, sell, rent, or share Google Drive files or Google user data. Google user data is not used for advertising, user profiling, or training artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
OAuth tokens are stored on the user device using platform security mechanisms when available. The user can disconnect Google Drive inside Smart Hub TV or revoke access from the Google Account permissions page at any time.
Smart Hub TV use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. Sharing and security
We do not sell your personal data. We only share the strictly necessary information to execute the integrations and functionalities that you yourself enable within the app.
We apply reasonable security measures aimed at protecting credentials, configurations, and operational data, although no infrastructure connected to the Internet can be considered completely immune to incidents.
8. User rights
You can request general information about processing, unlink accounts from within the app itself, revoke authorizations to third parties, and uninstall the software at any time.
If your local legislation grants additional rights of access, rectification, deletion, opposition, or portability, you may exercise them by contacting the support email.
9. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect functional, legal, or security changes. The current version will indicate as the last update April 24, 2026.
Continued use of Smart Hub TV after an update implies acceptance of the current policy, unless the law requires an additional consent mechanism.
